Tell him to come here and post. I asked the folks at wetwebmedia they could not ID it. I need to get a picture of the skeleton.

From the anatomy that is visible it is possibly an encrusting species of Madracis but without a section of exposed skeleton the ID is dubious.

AIMS distribution shows Mediterranean and Atlantic, and tentatively Mexico. It's been found in Oahu as well.
