new problem

So yesterday i noticed that my biocube was getting pretty hot up into the 80s. Disconnected the heater and opened the hatches on the hood but still it was pretty hot. Last but not least i checked the fans and turns out the exhaust fan was not working, took the hood apart to find that one of the wires was disconnected on it.

Always something Huh. You can freeze a couple of water bottle just in case you need to get the temp down in the future and just float one or more in a pinch.

Yeah, if it's not one thing it's another. Tomorrow i will call oceanic for replacements in the mean time i will use a fan Hector left at the Houser from his aquarium.

On these warm days you can run a reverse photoperiod off during the hot part of the day and on when it cools down. Still have the lid open with a fan blowing on it.

if the bottles are plastic and re-used 4+ times, they may split and release the contents into the tank. Luckliy, I noticed a crack when I tried this technique.

The fan is either a 12v DC fan or 110v Ac and should be pretty simple to connected back. If the fan is DC then the wires are red (possitive) and black, if it is AC then the wires will be black and white. The fan wires are probably set up with a connector already so all you have to do is matchup the connector and reconnect it.

It's a 12v DC brushless motor fan. My younger brother soldered one of the wires on the fan that came off but the fan was dead. I went yesterday to radio shack down the street but they only had one too big and one too small at $15 for the small and $20 for the big. I asked about one they had online the right size for $5 but he said they don't carry in the store.

I actually have been using some plastic bags filled about half way with water for freezing. They are very small my mom uses them to make frozen juice ice treats for the kids.

Go to HSC electronics in Rohnert Park, they have fan in all sizes and cheap too. Give me a size I might even have one in my computer room.
