Dimmable Power bar announcement by GHL

Development and testing are completed, we start production of the series now. Estimated release date: 04/01/2009

The dimmable powerbar provides 2 socket which can be dimmed using the 1-10V-interface. The phase angle modulation allows the connection of light bulbs and many motors.

Possible applications:
- dimming of light bulbs, e.g. for terrariums
- controlling of current pumps

Technical data:
- 4A per socket -> approx. 900W at 230V resp. 450W at 115V
- similar to a powerbar STDL4, just with only 2 sockets

Aqua Digital will be bringing the first batch in we hope in March once released.

No due to MH ballsts requiring a lot more than just a lower voltage supply.

We are testign some input variable T5 ballasts for this unit, but these are designed to have a variable input

Nope
same reason as above, they are not designed to be dimmed by a variable AC voltage.

There is only one type of ballast that "maybe" able to be used with this, but until we know it does work we are staying tight lipped. Personally I think even with this ballast there will be dimming curve flicker but it will be tested in the next two weeks to varify.

When it mentions "controlling of current pumps" does it mean Tunze pumps? If so, I don't understand how that works. The Tunzes are controlled using a variable DC voltage. Also, this is already something the Profilux can do, why be redundant? Are there other pumps that are known to work with this dimming powerbar?

No not tunze. Tunze does not work by Ac variables it works be 1-10V variables.

The profiLux can already control up to 8 Tunzes through the L ports
