New Product! Current USA Orbit Marine LED Aquarium Light

I have two of these 48" lights on my standard 75. I actually lowered the output to 80%. One curious thing is that on one of the control panels the light goes dim when not being programmed but the other light's control panel stays lit all of the time. I wish it would go off too. Is there a way?

Hi 30g, We am not sure if this is a setting that can be changed as we do not see it in the instructions. We would recommend emailing Current USA directly.

Current has posted some specifications on the new Orbit Marine Pro. Do you have any additional information? I was surprised that total wattage only increased from 18 to 21 for the 18-24 inch fixture. I have a 34 gallon cube with a 55 watt circular compact florescent (also Current USA but discontinued). Will the new light be much of an upgrade? I am also considering the new AI Prime. Your input is appreciated.

Other than what is posted online, we really do not have any more specifications to share for the Orbit Marine Pro.

Having said that, the control features, color spectrum and output of the new AquaIllumination Prime LED fixture will make it a much better choice. Of course, the price point will be a bit more but definitely worth it considering all of the features.

We are told "soon", but unfortunately do not have a firm ETA from AquaIllumination at this time. If you are looking to purchase a light soon, the recently released Kessil A160WE would also be a good option.

Both the AI Prime and Hanging Kit are now available for pre-order on our website. From the images we have seem, they do look quite sleek and impressive. We are hoping to have them available to ship in a couple of weeks.

The MaxSpect Nano Razor would be a great option as well.

No pricing info on the Orbit Marine Pro as of yet. ETA is currently sometime in April or May.

Which Orbitz for a Mr. Aqua 12 long?
24-36 inch
36-48 inch
The dimensions are listed as 35.4 long which seems to be in-between.

Thanks in advance,

Harbour

Hi Harbour,

The 36-48 inch model will be the better option as it will fully light the entire length of the aquarium. The actual measurement of the 36-48 inch model is 34.8".

I am running 2 of the Marine Orbits over my 75 with mostly zoos and lps .... Thinking about adding a 3rd. Think it will be overkill?

Hi Intenseimage,

Two should be enough for zoos and LPS. However, if you want to add a third fixture, it is definitely fine to do so. Just make sure to start with a low intensity on the third fixture and slowly acclimate your aquarium to the extra light.

I have a fluval spec 5 and the dimensions are 20.5" x 7.5" and 11.8" high. With the 18-24 fixture would I be able to keep soft corals and Lps?

So i have had 2 of the 18-24 inch lights over my 29 gallon for a few months... and one of my ramp timer pros shorted out and will not turn on, but the plug shows power is on and the leds are on, but not controllable... so my question is... Can i splice the Line 1 and line 2 and the power line from the non functioning ramp timer pro to the light that is working fine? Would the power adapter be strong enough to handle 2 lights on 1 cord? Or would i have to buy a bigger power supply to now handle both?

Ahfu25, a single 18-24 fixture be plenty for your Fluval Spec 5 since the aquarium is shallow and narrow.

Bobbygee, a single power supply will not power 2 fixtures. The fixtures do have a 1-year warranty from Current USA that covers defects. Your best option to be to replace the timer.

I have a 4x2x2 120g and want to have some frogspawn, and rbta, gps and maybe some zoas. What do I need for that? I have an ATI powermodule now, but am going to sell it.

Thanks.
