Nice did you build the stand and canopy yourself

I paid a carpenter to build the stand and canopy for me. It is solid oak. I just had to finish it myself.

***More updates***

I finished the stand for the SPS QT system and the stand behind the sump to hold my new calcium reactor and skimmer (still waiting for both to arrive).

I also added another 80 pounds of Fiji sand to the sump last night.

Tonight, my mangroves arrived and I added an Ice Cap fan to the display (will mount the fan later).

Unbelievable! Still can't wait to see that skimmer. Love the mangrove look too.

Answer me this, what type of tang is that yellow one in the pics above. it looks to have a cool personality to it.

very nice and beautiful Acro setup you have there pal...

Thanks, Chaotic Reefr4u! It is a work in progress. Hope to have the calcium reactor up and running soon. I ordered a large
Euro-reef skimmer which should arrive soon. I have been skimmerless for about a month.

Yes, I have a mimic tang.....the only tang in the system.

I finished the SPS QT system this weekend. It is a 30 g breeder with one 400 watt halide lamp. The macro algae sump is looking good as well. More updates to follow.

Tim, any updates???

I hope to finish my new reef project this weekend. The calcium reactor has been up and running for about a week and my new skimmer just arrived today. I will modify the stand I built behind my 125 gallon sump to hold the skimmer and reactor.

Forgot to ask, what are you using to feed water to your Geo and to the skimmer?

Thanks for the compliments, Travis! I am using a maxi-jet 1200 to feed the calcium reactor. Not sure what feed pump I need yet for the new Euro-reef skimmer.

Looking great, keep up the good work. love the mangroves too. I will be setting up a new tank that will have a side mangrove tank as well. Have you done your research on them? They are hardy if precautions are taken. I'm assuming you bought red mangroves?

Thanks for the compliments, Felix. I imagine you have access to several types of mangroves from the South Florida area. I have had mangroves before and my only complaint is that you cannot transplant them after the roots are established. I am using aquacultured red mangroves (rhizophora mangle) for this project.

Yes I have access to the 3 varieties, but i will be using the red mangrove like you, seems to be the right choice for what we want it for.
