New Queen Angel

nice looking queen. when I bought mine around 6 months ago it was about that same size and ate very well and still does, it's been changing colors every few months. I can truely say that it hates me especially when I touch the tank with my finger it starts to back up to the glass and swat its tail at me, some nerve it has since I'm the one that feeds it.

lol maybe its just saying hi.

Realistically, Queens are considered slow growers for angelfish .. ?? or?

Thanks.

Today I saw her nipping at my Foxface. She must not be hurting him too bad because he doesn't seem to be too alarmed by it and there are no marks on his body.

Juv queen may act like cleanners so no problem with "nipping" on your foxface...
Just make sure to feed as much as possible as at tiny size, metabolism is fast so need several meals to keep it round...

Thanks. That's what it looked like she was doing, cleaning him. Just didn't know they did that.

I feed twice a day, plus algae sheets. Plus she's constantly going around picking at the LR.

I was told by my lfs that i can put a queen in my size tank? I didn't think he was right, however he been doing this for 20 plus years. I'm not to sure what to do?

The LFS is trying to sell you a fish and make money. They'll tell you whatever it takes to sell you a fish. A small juvi queen will be fine for a while in a 75g, until it gets larger.

I gotta say I'm really impressed with this little fish. She's the smallest one in the tank, yet she's very scrappy, doesn't back out from the other fish and when I'm feeding, she's right there in the middle. A lot of courage for a 2" fish.

Yup, it's called making a buck ;) I've seen adult Queen Angels that size of a Turkey Platter that would require a shoe horn to fit a 75.
