New Radiant Wrasse OK????

A little Wrasse story for you Sara, When i was taking down the 225 I had a yellow coris wrasse in there. The thing disappeared when I started tanking things out. Once I got everything out I still couldn't find it. so I figured it jumped out and I would find it behind the tank. So I drained the tank. only wet sand in the tank. Left it like that for a 2 day's. I went to start scooping the sand out and guess what I found burried. The wrasse, it is alive and happy in the 360

The thing lived for 3 day's with the tank not running and 2 day's with no water.

Wow, that's quite a story Justin! Glad to hear he made it ... hopefully mine will show up soon as well!

I spoke to Brett at DR and he said that if it had died, it would have done so in the water ... not buried in the sand. I'm going to test the water again to see if there have been any spikes from a fish death. He also suggested running my fingers through the sand to see if I can locate him if the water tests turn up nothing.

Agreed. I really don't want to upset the thing anymore than it already is by scaring him back out of the sand. I'll start with the testing of the water and wait it out. If he does not appear in the next day or two, I'll ask for Jeff next time ... or should I just call again? There's no warranty on this fish so do they really care is my thought.

Since it was distressed from the moment you put it in the tank I would think Jeff would do something for you. Especially since you've pretty well documented things.

Don't worry, the wrasse will show up.
Mine also burried itself, & didn't see it for almost a week.

Okay, I just spoke to Jeff and he states that this is normal behavior for this fish. I need to give him a week and he should reappear.

Also, the tank that he came out is kept at 1.023 salinity and my acclimation process was adequate.

I'll keep you posted when he resurfaces from the sand!

He has never shown himself again and it's been 11 days ... I'll have to call Jeff again and see what he can do on another.

That's really too bad. Can't say I'm surprised, despite what others said. My radiant has never disappeared for a whole day.
