New RBTA

Yeah the mouth is open wide, like others have said just give it time! I had one that survived 24 hours in a bag when UPS messed up!

My long tentacle got into a maxijet twice, and lost a lot of tentacles. It then crawled into my rockwork and disappeared for 3months (I thought it had died). Then one day it came back out of the rocks about half the size and very bleached. That was a year and a half ago.
A recent picture.

When it first crawled out of the rockwork.

Just before it disappeared, after being in the powerhead twice and losing most of its tentacles.

I believe my anemone recovered because when it was hidden in the rocks I believed it was dead so I didnt mess with it and it had time to recuperate with out me tampering with it.

Updated pic from today after lights out.

Mouth isn't as wide open anymore but it's still upside down.

I will try to feed it some shrimp tomorrow and see what happens.

What do some of you do to protect your nems from crawling into powerheads?

Exactly what you have done - cover the intakes with foam. If you don't sooner or later you will have pureed anemone.

You will need to hold the shrimp lightly against the mouth of the anemone (don't try to shove it in!), and let the anemone slowly envelop the shrimp. Your clone is definitely saveable, but it will need some extra energy (read: feedings) to repair itself. I have several come back from that level of damage (or worse).

Thanks, I will try that today then the lights come on... Should I put some selcon on the shrimp?

Well thats good! What do you mean he whent nuts for it?Just thought I would ask?

Typically when I fed him he would slowly take it to his mouth.

Last night when I fed him he took the shrimp quickly to his mouth and moved his tenticles over to cover it from being taken away, which I have never seen before. Normally my Cleaner shrimp are trying to steal it.

But now I give the cleaner shrimp a small piece of food to keep them busy.

Update from today:

It's looking much better. Hasn't moved but half of it is starting to go to the back of the rockwork and twist upward towards the light. I'm guessing this is a good sign since it has been upside down for over 2 weeks.

Wow look really good!I think within a 2 month time period it will look just like befor but cant garentee that!

Thanks for the support!

I really haven't been doing anything special.. Just making sure everything is in check and feeding every other day.

The foot has a little bleeching near the tentacles but the bottom is still bright purple.
