New Recirculating Pump...?

Rogerââ"šÂ¬Ã¢â‚¬Âwhen will Tunze's new reciruclating pump 1073.04 be available? This sounds like just the ticket for my new return pump... Do you have any idea what it pumps at 4-5 feet of head?

It should be out pretty soon. I plan to call Monday morning and get some updates. At 4-5ft I approximate 500gph maximum flow. You can use 2 if you need to, the energy draw is quite low, we don't make this model pump, it is an Eden pump but we modify it to suit our needs and it has an acceptable quality and energy efficiency. Eden is a big Italian pump manufacturer, almost 50% of the pumps on the market under different brands are Eden pumps so they are pretty good and they build them to whatever specs you request so they have a nice heavy gauge cord and TUV approval.

I just wanted to comment that this thing is incredibly quiet. Stays nice and snug with all of the suction cups. One kick a$$ pump (so far!).

Thanks, the only ones I saw running were at trade shows and the factory and both are too noisy to find out if the pump is quiet or not. Very useful feedback.

Can the pump be used externally or only submerged?

I'm thinking of using it to pump water back from my sump to the 230 gal (880L) main tank. The water column will be aprox. 5 ft. Do you think it's enough? I'm very interested in this pump, mainly due to is lesser electric comsuption.

You may need two but this would still be less electricity than most competitors.
