New Red Haddoni Gaping Mouth.

Iopurchased a beautiful red/pink haddoni 2 days ago that I think Is slightly Bleached, is it normal for the colour just to be on the tips of the tentacles?
Since I bought it, it's mouth has been open about 1-1.5" the anemone is over 18". It planted it's foot as soon as it was introduced and has never had anything extruding from the mouth.
It has a little bit of brown around the mouth which I assume is zoo.
It has never deflated that i have seen apart from at might it shrinks up very slightly maybe 10 percent. Please mind the pictures as they were taken on my phone so aren't really a true representation of the colour, but I will upload some better ones shortly. I have got some cipro just incase as i bought it before I bought my blue.

Thanks Darren

He looks OK to me. Just adjusting to new tank and light. I would not be too worry about the mouth.
I think that your sand is too shallow for this species. If you can increase the sand dept will help. Too bad that he move to the front corner of the tank.

As long as the anemone not totally bleached, lighter, lower zooxanthellae count is not important. Don't worry about it. I think over all he looks good for an Haddoni that is settling in. Good luck with him.

Nice haddoni, looks good to me as well and he's huge! Any pics of your blue one? I'm looking for a blue one myself..

Beautiful Haddon's. I just got mine from LA, about 5 days ago. It's burrowing into the sandbed, just at the edge of one of my LR's. When fully open, it's about 11". I've watched it feed already (or so I think). Some frozen mysis and chopped clams fell on his tentacles, and it "scrunched up." Later on, it opened up. A few strands of mucus has been expressed from its mouth. I hope this is OK. My BTA from a different tank used to do this after eating, so I think it's OK.

Well it's mouth has been open since I got it, i havent seen the mouth closed ever. It feeds, i am starting to get a bit worried about it tbh and am debating whether to treat it?

How deep is your sand bed? It doesn't appear in any of the pictures that it has dug it's foot in and really settled in.

It looks to be a pretty big Haddoni, I'm not sure 3 inches of sand bed is sufficient. No I would not treat at this point.

It does appear that your sand bed is shallow. Haddoni Carpet would be happier with deeper sand bed of 3+ inches
