BTW- I have two temporary compact flourescent's on there, (26W)

Looks like a good rockscape - I was wondering if you were going to keep those lights, a little on the yellow side, need some actinic :) but I see you say they are temporary.

What kind of sand did you use?

So what do your parents think of your saltwater tank hobby? I'd be happy if my kids were interested in it, much better than some other things kids do (pokemon cards, video games, etc. etc. etc.)

Well, my parents dont like it at all... my dad always criticises me for doing all this work for this fish tank, and he says that when he was a kid, he had a fish tank with tropical freshwater fish, he never treated the water, or did anything but feed em, and they were fine. SO, he doesnt understand. My frined dad buys him fish and enjoys the hobby........It is an expensive hobby, so i usually have to sneak the things i buy into my room late at tnight after hiding them in the bushes until they go to bed...hahah

and i used Carib_Sea Live Sand im pretty sure........and lights are great by the way, my Xena loves'em, i no they dont have any actinic, BUT i can buy bulbs for it, i am going to buy a 13" 24W CF in a week or so.

The worst thing about it is that my parents wont ever let me upgrade my tank size. My room is not that big, but neither is Dans, and he has had at one point a 55, a 60, a 20, aand two tens in there at once, and it was still managable, not i HAVE the room, but they just dont want me to get at tank to fill it up. It kills me, i strive to get a bigger tank (everyting i get that bigger tank, i want aeven bigger one...lol) But i cant, BUT i think i may be albe to talk them into a 55. They said i can only have one tank at a time thoguh....they just dont get it, do they!!!

Wow i can just picture that now.. a bunch of plastic bags with livestock in them sitting on top of your bushes... lol that made my day

hahaha well, im glad......... but no, livestock i just say "WOW, i got this (flame angel) for only $2!!!!! They are having the AWESOME SALE"....it works....... so they dont know what i really paid for it

Which coral? the only LIVE corals that i have in there are 2 SMALL little staulks of Pulsing Xenia, a couple button polyps and a couple zoos, is there another? that would be cool, i baught some so called dead coral peices from the LFS, ar eyou saying it maybe alive?

The top dead coral piece looked like it had color. If you bought it dry, then its dead for sure. I just couldn't tell by the pictures.

it wasnt dry, they have the "rubble" bin of LR, and it is under water and lights.......... what kind of coral do you think it may be?

IDK, just to add some different texture ot the rock, so it doens tlook soo boring, and when i get REAL corals, that are alive, i will take the fake ones out! : )

Nice job, Seth. Looks very natural in there. Can't wait until you get some real corals in there. When you come to Orlando, stop and see me, and introduce yourself...I'll see what I can do to help out (I think we met at one of the meetings?) Marcye

Yes, you are the owner of Sea in the City, correct? I would love to stop in, in fact, where are you located, like next to a big store or something, becasue i really want to stop in and see the place and say hi!

Yeah, i know who you are, you have really pretty eyes...., is that right? and you tried to help me get some pulsing xenia! : ), yup, i remember you then

I just put whatever I got into a blue, empty oceanic salt bucket and if anyone asks, I say its just water thats in there. :D

Well it doesn't have to be oceanic, I was just giving forth the general idea of using a bucket but oceanic salt is still very good salt to buy. ;)
