New sebae

I bought a sebae anemone yesterday. I have been looking for a crispa, one that had some tan colour in its tentacles and finally found one. After aclimatizing it and setting it in the sand by a rock, it seemed to dig in, however it then started to shrink and shrivel up. Its mouth was way open and excreted alot of dark brown mucus. It really looked like a goner. I figured by morning it would be dead. It however seemed to recover some today and it actually ate a very small sliver of raw shrimp. It is now looking a lot better and its tentacles are extending way more. I am hoping I can get it healthy again. Heres a pic I took earlier today.

It looks like it's doing pretty well now. Assuming you take good care of your parameters it should color up nicely over the next couple months.

Hmm, this morning the anemone was on the sandbed not attached. The tank parameters are all fine. I beleived these to be sand dwelling creatures. I did read on a thread somewhere here that a few people had theirs in the rocks. So I moved it and it hunkered right down in and it is now all opened up. Strange but I guess the test will be if it stays put.

Here it is on the rocks. Hasn't moved yet. The clowns are inspecting it but no takers yet. I actually hope they don't for a while.

Well ok so my female clown (B&W ocellaris) is a real B**ch she is really beating up on the nem I don't no why. So I took m758b033's advice. This looks like a real prison but it is keeping her out even though see is looking for a way in. Looks like crap though. Its my fault as I should not have added a nem that did not suit them

Honestly, it looks like it is getting more bleached.

What are your actual water parameters -- numbers please, "fine" doesn't tell me much.
What lights do you have?
How long has your tank been set up?
What all do you have in the tank, fish wise.

a healthy nem should be able to take a beating from a occelaris unless the clown is huge compared.there must be something else going on.todd is right with the bleaching thye should be creamier, brownish hue, with greenpurple flourecent hints.i can see it in the first pics he had some zooxanthia left in him but what he spewed out was zooxanthia when you saw him in youre tank.answer the parameter and lighting question from todd.feed him minced foods or mysis with vitamins.dont feed solid pieces of shrimp, clam, squid.or silversides he will have a hard time digesting minced foods are easier for them to digest.a acclimated anenome is very tough do keep the clowns away for now.
