Howdy Folks..

Just stoppin in to say hello!

I just started a job at Coral Reef Pet Center in Salem, OR. Its a brand new store and I am the only employee so far other than the owner.... I have been a hobbyist for about eight years...I used to work at Petco "gag"...but I got out of that place in a hurry and did some executive protection work "glorified body guard" and some random armed security work...now I am back to doing what I love...

This is not an advertisement...but I think I work in the best fish store I have ever seen... I had stumbled upon it one day when I was out getting some supplies for my then soon to be son.. I was out of work at the time..I got fired from Oregon armored..an armored car company...because I called my wife who was eight months pregnant on my cell phone while she was in the hospital...cell phones were prohibited by my company...for stupid reasons... so I hope the manager gets some serious VD and dies a horrible death... enough about that... lol

My uncle is part owner of the store..and I told him that I would love to volunteer for a while until I could find a job..well..one day he called me and asked me if I wouldnt mind workin' for him.. I eagerly accepted..

you know its amazing...when you have a job that you love... you never seem like you really are working...I put in 11-15 hours a day....and I still hate taking a day off.

I just recently switched from a 29 gallon planted freshwater tank to a 72 gallon bowfront with a built in overflow and a 29 gallon sump.

I currently am using a PFO lighting setup that has 2x 250 watt 20,000k XM halide bulbs..with two 48" VHO bulbs... the light setup is ungodly expensive..but in my opinion well worth it!

I have 150 lbs of live sand.. about 40 lbs. of live rock..which I plan to up to 150 lbs. soon..

I have a precision marine Skimmer, Precision Marine Calcium Reactor, Fluval 304 canister filter, Skilter 400, EBO 300w heater.

Everything alive is still in a rubbermaid container until the sand settles and I get my salinity right.. My stupid Arse left the refractometer at work so I cant check my salinity until tomorrow..

my livestock currently consists of 1 longnose hawkfish 1 indigo dottyback "pseudo. Fridmani x sankeyii" which I understand is quite the rare fish.. arrow crab, sand sifting star, red brittle star, and the usual cleanup crew with two queen conch snails... all of which is currently residing in a rubbermaid container...

My tank is still cloudy from the sand... I hope it clears up soon.. I cant stand to wait!

I plan to keep lots of SPS corals acros, monti's and seri's. I plan to add a strawberry bananna dottyback.."hopefully he gets along with the indigo".. hippo tang, bluespot jawfish...mandarin dragonet....after i get some good pods... and some others that have yet to be determined.. I wanna keep my tank filled with some pretty rare stuff..I have first pick so it should end up being pretty radical...

please write back with any criticism!!!!!
