color is awesome! lfs told me it had been there for several weeks so i assume it is healthy. i have yet to see it extend any tentacles. does this happen only after lights out?

Not necessarily. The one I had, the tentacles always seemed to be out. I really don't think it matters though. GL.

i dunno. you're the one who has it.

btw, i just snagged a page from you in the lounge. snoozer!

Try throwing a *very small* amount of stinky food (soaked pellets) in right at lights out. Wait about 1/2 hour or so and see if it's tentacles are out. If it's tentacles are not out, repeat every half hour until they do come out. When the tentacles come out, turn off your pumps, and target feed it a few pellets. Repeat every few days for a month, and it will be puffed up and happy at all times.

*smaller tanks will require frequent water changes during the process.*

*removing the coral to a small feeding container will also work, and won't pollute your tank.*

yesterday (or was it the day before?), i looked in the tank while it was still dark in the morning. saw lots of small tentacles so i squirted some thawed brine shrimp around it. mouth opened wide and tentacles moved the food in. then it got all puffed up. i call success! i know brine shrimp is junk food but it was the easiest thing to try. next time, i'll try roe or arctipods. :)

Nice looking plate. I see those at LFS without their tentacles out, always afraid to pick one up. Glad to hear that they are ok.

this morning i put a tiny piece of raw scallop on the tentacles. didn't take it long to suck it down. :)
