Found a great source for plumbing fittings that has a unique variety that looks like it will be suitable for our aquariums...
I kinda like the 'Thru-Hull fittings' they have.. especially the one with the strainers...

hhow about these types of builkheads with a diffuser to 'soften' the jet of water? or for an overflow?

They have other valves but not sure if they are stainless steel or not...
the couple i have seen personally had no 'resistance' to keep the valve open like the other check valves we are used to...

Im guessing they all have stainless steel or other non corrosive metals as they are designed to work in saltwater and not fail...

those look perfect... just glue them inline with a pvc coupling... but again, not sure if they have non corroding materials...(or leaching)
