NEW store in El PASO? Closed STORE?

Hi guys! I am new in this forum, so this is my first thread. Recently I retook the hobbby and I hope that you can help me to start a tank again. I was reviewing the stores in El Paso, since I live in the west side those the stores that I am interesed in. I already visited salty fin. And when I went to my saltwater world was closed. Somebody told me that my saltwater world is TOTALLY closed and a new store is going to open in the west side? anybody knows something more about this? , is there any store with discount for set up? thanks!

As far as the only LFS open on the west side is Salty Fin. My Salt Water World has closed. I have heard "rumors" that there is another LFS opening up on the west side of EP, but yet do not know. If you can and time permits, stop by at the Coral Reef on the east side. Daniel and Leonor are great people and should help you with whatever fish equipment you may need and setup you may need. On the east side, you also have SeaCreatures that you can venture too.

yeah i thought MSW was going to open back up but i guess not. Daniel at the coral reef sells full setups with everything if i am not mistaken.
 
every store has good and a bit of not perfect, but i visit all and would buy from all knowing what im looking for and having a background on prices, the real advice is on here for the most part, although they all know their stuff. as far as setting up or starting up a new tank, saltwater heaven on yandell seems to have the most in stock, sea creatures helped me out alot with ordering equipment i needed, coral reef seems to have nice fish and steady corals, salty fin had some nice sps that are hard to find locally. so overall we are pretty lucky even though i wish we had one of those big city super stores that you would visit just to view amazing display tanks and frag tanks. so overall its up to the person and their experience, knowing what you want and your stuff helps alot more. and as always come on here and ask the club for good help.
 
there are alot of people that deal with the saltwater hobby in el paso but you have to know what you are looking for AKA do your research, before going out and getting you want.

I hope someone re-opens MSW as it was the closest to LC! Maybe Daniel could open a second store! :lol: I had mentioned a store I visited in Augusta, Ga called Stars Aquatic when I had first started in the hobby. I could not find a webpage but found a few videos of the store. I just liked the way they had it setup and they had everything! I walked out a broke man that day!!

yeah thats what im talking about, im guessing we cant support it, but it seems orders of fish are gone almost instantly when they arrive at stores. i mean even if we put all the stores in ep together it wouldnt add up to something like that. haha.

Hey Daniel/Leonor--You listening? LOL!

Jay--I went to Aquarium Arts in Phx and that store was a lot like the one you listed in GA. Great people, corals till your eyes exploded, all kinds of fish, etc. If i would have brought a tank, I would have easily mortgaged my kids education that day. In December when I go back home, I am visiting Reef Culture. I here they are the sh!t and know there stuff in the valley.

LOLOL!!! I like it Deehz! Now I am little cofused with my original question, so I hope some comedians tell me the true. A friend told me that indeed it is going to open a new store in the westside close to Sunland Park, I don't know the name or opening day, and I don't know more details, but this is my area if someone opens a store I am gonna see it.!!!.... also I would like to know more information about the meetings. I review some information in the forum, and I tried to visit a web page but it is no working anymore.
 
Yeah, web page, don't bother on it just yet. The individual that was in charge of it went AWOL. Oh well. The acting officers are working on it to get it back up to speed.

Meetings, are just a get together of a group of gals and guys that are devoted to this hobby. We talk about it, get to see other members tanks, and really a bunch of great people that enjoy speaking with each other. Even if you are new to STARS, they make you feel at home, like you are a part of a "bigger family". Then we talk about meeting stuff: minutes, agendas, cash flow/no flow, just like in a meeting if you had attended one at work. Only a little less formal.

As far as the "new store". We are just egging on Leonor and Daniel at The Coral Reef to take over My Salt Water World--under new management! :lol: They are great people that run the best LFS this side of Tejas and southern NM. They are just awesome people. Stop by and you will see why. So no, I have not heard anything about a "new LFS (local fish store) opening on the west side. If you find out more, let us know.
