New style Tek t5 hood?

Hi Guys.... The information I received from Sunlight Supply about the reflector material is that it will indeed be made by Alanod, the European company that a lot of lighting manufacturers use for their aluminum reflectors. However, this new material that Alanod is putting together for Sunlight Supply will be 98% reflective, and very easy to clean off salt spray and repel pitting / corrosion. This is a huge benefit and upgrade to the Elite, that even the most highest end fixtures on the market are not using.

I have not received an eta yet, mostly due to the reflector material still being manufactured and shipped. Once I can get my hands on one I'll do some comparison test with other leading T5 fixtures on the market.

Thanks,
Jeremy

Sounds great. If it preforms as well as the PM's and Sunpower's it will be a hit.

Jeremy,

Your pricing list did not show a 6 bulb 36" unit. Was this a typo or is sls dropping the 6 bulb 3' unit?

What I listed will be what's coming out first for the Tek Light Elite. As they start to pursue the other configurations I will list those as well.

any idea when you will have the test figures on these? I desperately want either a sunpower or a TEK unit, but I won't be pulling the trigger until I get some data

Jeremy,

Have you gotten a good look at the graphite fixtures? From the poor photos it looks like primer and not a nice finish.

Any idea if and when a black elite will be available?

The release date is scheduled for sometime in January. I haven't received a test fixture yet, as they're still trying to get the reflectors in. The graphite paint is just that, a nice paint, similar to what you could expect from Giesemann. It's not quite as high end as what Giesemann is, however it's not a flat or primer, or anything like that. The finish really does look nice in person.

There will be a 60" fixture coming out, along with a 72" fixture.

@mjk0301, they are all pre-order right now. We should be getting them in January.

Thanks,
Jeremy

Jeremy~ Any idea of which ballasts they are using on these??? I'm hoping they upgraded them as well...

I believe the ballasts will be Fulham's, not the Advance. Still no news on eta, should be sometime the end of this month hopefully.

thanks,
Jeremy

Hey guys, I just received confirmation that the new Elite's will indeed have the Fulham Workhorse ballasts in them.

Thanks,
Jeremy

Jeremy,

How do the workhorse ballasts differ from those used in previous tek lights?

Do the non-elite teks ship with different ballasts or are they swapped to the workhorse ballasts now as well?
