New style Tek t5 hood?

The older Tek Lights used Advance ballasts that were prone to failure. For the last year the regular Tek Lights were switched over to Fulham Workhorse ballasts. Both fixtures, the regular Tek and the Elite will use Fulham ballasts for now on.

Are the elite reflectors a new/different design or the same just updated with a new material?

Will the standard teks be able to accept the new reflectors?

I believe they are using the same style reflector, only different material. I will confirm this however.

All of the reflector material that showed up in the states had been damaged. The new material is in transit, and due to be delivered anytime. We are looking at 2 weeks or so from now according to Sunlight Supply, to receive them.

From the testing we have done so far the ATI Sunpower 6 x 54w is producing right at 20% - 25% more par than the Tek Light Elite 6 x 54w, in a 48" x 18" area. Going outside of the 18" area (tanks tanks that are 24" - 36" front to back) the Elite starts to climb up in par, and eventually surpassing that of the ATI Sunpower.

We have been in communication with Sunlight Supply for the last couple of days in regards to this, and they are considering looking at a new reflector for the Elite which will give more par straight down like the Sunpower does, but less in the far outer reaches of the tank. This would give the hobbyist two options, depending upon the footprint of the system.

I also tested an ATI Powermodule 6 x 54w and noticed less than 2% lighting increase from the ATI Sunpower.

All tests were performed at 19.5" through air only, using only brand new ATI Blue Plus lamps in the fixtures. Test numbers were taken after 90 minutes of run time on all fixtures to allow them to get up to full temperature.

Do you have an icecap illumination t5 to toss into the mix? Most think their lamp wont perform nearly as well as the tek and ati due to the fanless design.

Any testing on New elite tek VS old tek fixtures. I would like to see some kind of number even percentages on how much if at better the new tek elite is.

Any more info from Tek on possible new reflectors? I am in need if of a 8 bulb 48 inch fixture with high output over a Sps tank and don't want to pay for a powermodule.
