Thanks I will take new photos soon and also a video, trouble is videos of tanks with any LED dont look good they pick up on the pulse.

I have done somewhere a video of the sump room I will dig that out.

I've noticed this too and I wonder if there's any way to reduce this effect (on the light itself or camera settings)?


I love my Mitras but I didn't have video flickering with a different LED I owned previously. Also aren't LEDs making inroads into the pro photography lighting market?

I have taken photos with all the leading brands and always got the same thing its not so much the led lamps but the camera used

Cameras are only using led in flashes not photo capture CCD,s are used in optical capture

how do you like that clear silicone? I have been talking to Denny at concept almost ready to pull the trigger on a 48x24x30. I was going to go black silicone do you find that clear glows under lights?

clear does not glow, but i would go black its hard to hide even the smallest of bubbles which are natural in clear

Little update

Tank doing well in general, my naso has developed anorexia after 3 months no idea why he eats like a pig and is fed on the world best leading food. The local oppinion is he could have been a victim of cyanide catching or could be internal parasites but does not display any other signs.

Just about to change out my water blaster for a Tunze silence Pro, no reason other than I want German engineering on the tank for such a critical component.

The end is nigh!

We are moving in 8 weeks to our new place backing onto the Golf course in Manotick. Sadly due to the renos involved the tank cant come. So we are saying goodbye to this build this week.

fear not a new one will start in the fall! BIGGER, even more bling!
