New tank chipped!!

bought a new 210 gallon tank and did not notice the chip until I got it home. Dealer claims it is a warranty issue and told me to contact the manufacturer. Manufacturer told me It can be returned to the dealer and get a new one instead of using my ONE time warranty claim on a tank that hasn't even had water in it. Chip is about 1.75 inches right behind top rim and probable about 1/3 or the thickness of glass at the very top. It isn't visible from outside of tank. Let me know if you think it will compromise strength. I attached a photo

I never heard of a one time warranty deal. I would get the new one.
The too should come with a one time deal too.
Who makes the tank?

return it! You just spent the money for the tank, do nto accept something less than perfect. Besides the fact that its better to replace it now, then to come home to 210 gallons of water on the floor and be SOL

that's booty, I vote return.. what kinda company offers a one time warranty.. :/

any tank that big costs decent money, you should be getting a perfect tank because come resell your gonna get bottom dollar for that tank in that condition. its like buying a new car at msrp with a dirty carfax. don't make much sense does it?

i have a chip and scratches on my 450g that I let pass when I got it (was too eager to get the tank going). i regret it every time i see the blemishes now! hold them to perfection!

I have literally never heard of a one time warranty. Assume you are in the US? What manufacturer?

+1 on returning it. You could even try calling them from the store to make the manufacturer and dealer talk directly. And yeah a 1-time warranty is dumb, i'm curious to see who the manufacturer is, as well.

Aqueon is the manufacturer. I thought the 1 time warranty was BS! Especially since the tank has never even had water in it and the aqueon rep agreed the chip had to come from the factory installation of the top rim.

Your fish store is responsible! I see these post all the time here on RC, if I have a problem with my 4 year old Marineland tank I am calling my LFS where I bought it and they will fight to get me a new tank. Otherwise what good is a LFS?

I agree Alton. I suppose i should have inspected it closer before I drove off but I was excited and caught up in the moment. Good chance I will be finding a new fish store to buy all the rock and coral it will take to stock it !
