Ok tank is up and running. Still need better lighting but this is what I got so far. Concerns, salinity is way low, so what is the best way to raise it on a rank that was just set up and is full? RO system that came with tank (bought used). Leaks everywhere. Need a good one nobody sells RO water near me in Fredonia. Sump pump/skimmer pump is really loud. What can I do to make that quitter? Lastly in my wet/dry tank I have the bottom filed with live rock big and small pieces, feel dumb asking but, is there anything else at all I should have in there? Just feels weird not having filters or something I guess. Thanks for your help.

The best way to increase your sg I know is thru evaporation. Let the water evaporate, then top off with .028-030. Make sure you test before adding water. If your at .024-.026 just use RO. A gallon or so every 2-3 days should increase your SG but not cause any undo stress.

You could try suction cups under the skimmer pump. I bought a sound dampener from BRS for my return pump, and then wrapped it in a mousepad. Makes a HUGE difference. Almost no sound at all now.

Wet dry with live rock sounds fine. I have a little bit in my sump, just because I don't have anywhere else to put it.

Where is your RO leaking? The canisters, or the push connect hoses? I'd bet that you can get it to stop.

If you don't have any live stock in there, I'd recommend taking about 3/4 of your sand bed out. As someone who once tried a deep sand bed in the display, I can tell you that removing it now will save you a nuisance algae and maintenance issue down the road. It will also smell significantly worse if you wait (I'm talking, make you want to puke kind of smell)
