New Tank Setup water parameters help

Hi

I am new to the hobby bought a second hand aquael reefmax on Tuesday 105l. Bought myself 8kg of live rock and 10kg of live sand. I have noticed small little insect type objects running around at night researched these and they all look non threatening and a benefit to the tank. I am cycling it at the moment and have not added any live stock. I carried out my first water tests today with a red sea test kit. Nitrite was 0.2ppm Nitrate 5ppm Ammonia 0.8ppm Ph 8.1 alkalinity 2.5. Are these parameters ok for day 3 of cycle and when do you reckon I can introduce clean up crew

There's not really a set time schedule, so to speak, for cycling. Keep watching those 3 parameters. Ammonia and Nitrite will both rise and then eventually zero out. When this happens, you should start seeing nitrate climb further while those other two stay at zero. At that point, your tank will be cycled and you can slowly begin adding to it. Hope that helps.

Thanks Brian I added some flake food yesterday as some posters suggest to see if the tank could deal with it this mornings readings are ammonia 0.2 so must have spiked higher maybe the day before yesterday. Nitrate 10 nitrite somewhere between 0.2 and 0.5 I'd say around 0.3. Seems that cycle should be done in a day or two should I do a water change before intro of a cuc.

So this is the picture of my tank I bought the purple rock because I liked the colour. Is it possible this is coraline algae ?
