Well as many of you know I got a new tank well everything is almost done just have to stain the canopy and stand tomorrow just thought I would share some pictures since I am not as close for people to stop by and check it out...
It really isnt to bad to be honest I can move it by myself more akward then heavy but moving it with someone else is a breeze. It is all 3/4" for the oak.
Yeah there are a ton of really sweet cubes in that thread. As for Matts tank I would tank his hands down for aesthetics it is an awesome looking tank being totally braceless but the eurobracing gives me the extra comfort at night. If I had done mine open top and hung lights instead of building a canopy I definitely would have gone trimless/braceless
Well the tank move is done Matt was gracias enough to help me move it and Bort helped us in the morning which was a huge help as well. Of course it wasnt to successfull of a move I lost all of my acros (only have LPS and Zoos now which obviously wasnt many of either) which obviously sucks but luckily I gave Matt the things I knew I couldnt go without incase somehting like this were to happen.
Full Front Shot of the Tank (alittle dark because one of the bulbs wouldnt fire - suppose to get here by tomorrow though):
Side Shot:
Ricordia (one of the few things that made the move):
Sorry non of the pics are that great just snapped them just to get some up.
Figured I hadnt talked to many of you in awhile and just wanted to let you all know I am still kicking down here in Charlotte (you all should try to make it down for Mike Palettas talk on October 14th - shameless plug) but non the less thought I would share my progress (forewarning I am not the best photographer so proceed at your own risk)
To start off I replaced my ASM G3 gate valve/recirc mod with an H&S A150 and couldnt be happier. It has far surpassed my expectations and have been very happy with the results I have seen. I decided eventhough it could be run external to still run it internal just in case anything went haywire while I was gone.
As for the tanks themselves I just recently switched from M58 retros from Hello Lights to IceCaps and am also very happy with that switch for some reason I believe that my M58s were running dim (12k bulbs looking more like a really weak 20k) for some reason there is a definite difference in how my bulbs are running now (Reeflux 12ks much more of a crisp white). I absolutely despise full tank shots so my apologizes for a pretty crappy one. Also note that I am just regaining some color after moving my corals down about a month and a half ago, then having my lighting issue.
Here is the frag tank it is quickly filling up faster then I would like which isnt neccesarily bad because it is making more be more picky with what I am purchasing.
Now on to some random pics nothing really special just thought I would share:
ORA Scripps Pink
Random Acro:
Chips Acro and its crazy polyp extension:
Matt and I picked this up hoping it retains some of its color:
Matt and I split this guy Picked it up for the sole reason that I am a big fan of the contrasting polyps colors to the base (cant really tell in the pic but the tips of this guy are purple and the base kind of green) plus we thought it was just a pretty gosh darn cool coral:
Ricordia:
Joker Palys (picked up from Fraggle Reef):
Red People Eaters:
Figured I had to work at least one fish picture in...Tomini Tang:
Finally a shot of both tanks...like I said nothing really to special just thought I would share plus it allows me to look back and see the changes if I can stay on top of updates:
Figured I hadnt updated in awhile so I thought I would share a few new pics I have snapped over the past few week. Hope all is going well up there in South West Virginia. I have seen Matt a few times when I came through town hopefully I can catch up with more of you shortly. If anybody is ever in the Charlotte area let me know I would love to meet up to catch up.
The obligatory FTS:

Started off with Blue Tips which I really liked seems like half are now blue half are purple:
Tips are much more purple in person:
Not the best pic but good ole Yellow Dellow:
Sold to me as a thin branching blue stag, still small to say the least but I am looking forward to it growing up:
Well I have been on the road since the beginning of January only getting a day or two on the weekend to actually come home and I have been pleasently suprised with how everything has done (except many of my corals have lightened up which I am thinking is do to lack of feeding to the tank - maybe feeding the tank once or twice a week depending on if work lets us come home). Been seeing some solid growth as of late which I attribute to the addition of the kalk stirrer and calcium reactor it has really zeroed in on my numbers. None the less I thought I would share some pics as normal sorry for the quality (sort of grainy - at least they are showing up that way on my PC - user error on my part to say the least).
Top Down Shot of a cluster of croals:
Efflo - one of the main corals which has significantly lightened - use to be a rich deep purple in the tips:
Picked this up from a store in Maryland when I was home over Thanksgiving:
Picked this up from Fins Reef about a month and a half ago and it has grown extremely well for me:
