new tank update

Are you looking for aquascaping suggestions? Hope so cuz that's what's coming! :)

How about turning the whole rock work around 180 degrees and putting the big stuff closer to the back (end close to wall). This would give corals more room to grow and more swimming space at the front of the tanks.

The way you have it now there looks like there isn't much space between rocks and front of tank. This will make it hard to clean the most visible part of the tank.

Build an arch from the left to the center. Make it a tall arch as well.

an arch was one of my fist ideas but i look at a video from JesterSix
and he made a really good point,
that the arch will take a lots of space in the bottom of the tank
I like to do some hallways like in between the rocks for the fish to swim
arch like lol :debi:

all the rock the you see in there is only half of what I wanna put in the tank
am going to move it all around maybe couple more times
wanna go for a island look with some arch (hallway) looking things lol
noting is cemented yet
drill and still moveable

thanks for the suggestions am going to try them

so i drill more rocks, and all the small rocks I peg them ( drill small 1/4" holes and glue 1/4 fiberglass rods to them ) taking time to drill all the rocks so I can move them if I wanna

also order 60# of rock (BRS Reef Saver Dry Aquarium Live Rock)
so i can fill the rest of the tank

here some more pics

Your build is looking awesome and that stand is sweet! Save some room for corals and fish, don't add too much rock, especially for a peninsula tank. I wouldn't add much rock over half way up. I really like the open look, but I think everyones main goal is to add as much depth as possible.

Carlos, Sorry for flaking on coming over. Had to get ready for a meeting in SF that I stayed over night mon and tues. What sand are you using? Was it washed out before putting it in the tank?

I going to have to scoop out the sand and rinsed
i got to carried away drilling rocks forgot about that

if I get the last of the rock friday
I should be putting water in the tank by Sunday

so I got me some hanna checkers Calcium and Alkalinity
I tested the water in my 50 gall tank and the calcium was at 538 which is weird becouse
am no't dousing anything

I along with a lot of other people have had some issues with the Hannah cal checkers. I suggest another opinion on that level.. Fwiw I sold mine pretty quickly after I got it.. Notoriously wrong readings on the same sample of water.. I have had good luck with the alk (until it's the last few tests in the liquid) and p04.. Tank looks awesome so far
