Hello everyone.
I have been having bad luck with anemones and my closed loop system so after the last loss i waited 6 months before getting the itch again.
Well i ended up getting a blue carpet. I am not to sure of the kind but i am being told by a solid source it might be a gigantea.
Cool!
Now i need any info i can get on the care of this particular anemone I can get. I know the basics and have a good running history with bubble tips, lta and once a beautiful seabae.
My friend from another site said this is the best place for anemone info so here i am.
I have had it since last night and it has yet to bury its base in the sand. It is very sticky and the oral disc looks healthy.
Here are a few pictures i took. I will post better ones tonight after work. Oh, I also have a pair of Amphiprion akindynos i am hoping will find it.

It looks to me like it is probably a gigantea as well.
Giganteas usually like to attach to a rock just below the the sand or in a rock/sand interface. Often they will attach to a rock crevice. They don't dig deep like haddonis do.

They seem to like a lot of surging current and very strong 250 - 400 watt MH lighting without a lot of water above them.

They are probably the most difficult and frustating anemone to try to keep. They can be doing well for months, even years and then start to do a deflating/expanding routine that ends in them no longer expanding and dying for no apparent reason.

Thanks Doni! :D
Thank you for the information phender. I found an article in TFH magazine on these anemones with some great info and care.
I am happy to say that my clowns have decided to live in this anemone! This is good new because there gentile and will help it acclimate to the system. I will get some good pictures up tomorrow. :)

Sure phender!
