new to reefing and photograpy

i bought a digital camera b4 i started reefing and i'm hoping that i'm not stuck with a camera that can't do what i want it to do. i have a canon powershot
sx10.......10.0 mega pixels and a 20x zoom lense. it has a hot seat for a bigger flash(which i bought). it takes some really nice pics but it just doesn't seem to focus when you zoom in(no matter how far from the tank i am.
are there any add ons i can buy to help take better close-ups?

Looks like that particular camera, that if you put it in macro mode you should be able to focus very close. I would also use manual focus to help with the focusing problem at that distance.
