hi!
i have a 1 year old 40 gallon reef tank and i want to start adding sps to it. I have a pretty small budget, but have had success keeping lps and softies.
params:
nit 0
am 0
Ph 8.1
phos too low to measure
temp 76-77
sal 1.025
alk 12
i have 1300 gph power heads and a few softies and a torch. i have a deep sand bed and 35lbs of rock with some encrusting sponges growing.
what are some hardy sps corals? if they need feeding, its fine cuz i already feed my corals.

thanks

So the biggest thing with sps is stability. Especially Alk which seems pretty high in your case? You'll also need to measure and track calcium.
I do agree that montiporas and birdsnests tend to be on the easier, cheaper side of things as a place to start.
