New To The Area Intro

SkullV

They Got My Number
Hey everyone! I just wanted to make this post to introduce myself. I'm sure I'll be joining the local club sooner rather than later but figured I would post here first.

I just moved out here (Gilbert) from Chicago a little over a week ago with my clownfish, live rock, and a few anemones (always looking for more!). Currently I just have a 20g set up while my girlfriend and I look for a bigger place closer to Mesa or Tempe. The current tank isn't much to look at, but here are some of my set-ups over the last few years back in Chicago:

My 75G with some of the first Radions delivered to the Chicagoland area:

Well that's enough for now. If anyone in the East Valley area has any cool Euphyllia, Photosynthetic Gorgonians, Bubble Tip Anemones, or other interesting LPS/Softies please don't hesitate to PM me!

Welcome to the area! Surprisingly for a land locked desert state we have a great hobbyist community here for reef systems, and a great selection of stores too. Make sure you come out to the club meetings and auctions too.

I'm definitely planning on it. Is there a club website? I went to two stores so far, Coral Reef Imports looked great for coral and Larry's Reef food and Aquarium Arts had an awesome selection of fish, inverts, and dry goods.

I ended up bringing home 2 fish from Aquarium Arts a black ice snowflake male to pair with my ORA snowflake female and a 1/2" bicolor angel.

Welcome. I work with a lot of Chicagoans. What brought you out here?

My girlfriend and her family are from out this way. I was told I was moving, so I was moving! Really though, I have always wanted to move to the southwest and these last 2 winters in Chicago solidified that for me.

You'll really enjoy our "winters" here.

I loved hiking in February last year in Peyson. I don't even mind this summer heat without the 70% humidity I'm used to! Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. Hope to meet everyone in person soon!

Finally got a chance to glue down everything I brought with from Chicago. One rainbow BTA is still hiding and my sunburst BTA is just barely peaking out. Not much to look at right now, but I'm planning a trip to Coral Reef Imports on Friday to change that a bit.

yep Dan at CRI is great, especially if your looking for colony size coral. I know Jorrell at Club Reef just landed a new fish order today and got in new sps colonies too so that would be worth a trip as well.

the club site is azfragclub.com but they usually post almost all the same info on this board as well, all meeting dates and info are in the stickies in this forum.

Of course the best thing about moving out of the city....a garage!

Salt tank, the valves either mix the bucket or pump it out:

Tank looking a little fuller already! Visited Club Reef the other day for another torch coral. Hopefully they can get in the fish I was looking for!
