hmm... someone correct me if i'm wrong, but i'm pretty sure it's a sebae anemone, which, though i've never personally owned, are pretty hard to keep (so i've heard) it does look bleached, but with the right lighting (think metal halides!), and water conditions, and provided that you feed it often, it should regain its zooxanthellae and develop a brownish tinge. though it's bleached, it doesn't look like it's dying or anything. does it eat when you feed it? (meaty things like mysis, silversides or krill is usually readily accepted)

Looks like a bleached sebae anemone to me too... although I have HEARD that some naturally retain that crisp "white-with-purple-tips" color as well but I have nothing to back up that claim. Either way the stubby tentacles are most likely a sign of starvation. You could also try feeding it aqua yums clams.

Treat anemones like corals. In general they need good lighting,(technically metal halides are not necessary for all anemones. If your tank is shallow then PCs and even NOs can work. Talk to Phender about that. He has kept one for I think 13 years under NOs in a shallow tank) good water quality, and just overall good aquarium husbandry.

Test regulary for nitrates, ammonia, pH, alkalinity, calcium, magnesium, Specific Gravity, and temp. Try to keep them stable and within the appropriate ranges and remember to feed the anemone on a regular basis. :)
