He has not officially announce yet. I will find out more info on him...

Please pm me with that info if thats cool :)

Great pics BTW

Can't wait to see some more pics Sang! I like how you can take these skimmers apart. Is that pretty easy to do?

Yes, I know thats the idea....

Is the idea a reality? That is my question....

Here Jim-

Personally, I'm not one to do periodic, complete skimmer cleanings...mainly due to laziness. I only clean my collection cup and clean the pump periodically. I may periodically stick my arm into the skimmer body to wipe down the sides, but that's about it.

Thanks Terry!

I was wondering how easy it is to get that far into the break down? Is is a couple of easy screws? Thats what it looks like, but I was just interested in what Sang had to say about disassembling the unit.

Jim

Jim - When I was researching new skimmers, I didn't delve too deep into how easy it is to break it down, since that's not high up on my "desired features" list.

Perhaps Sang or Victor can chime in. It doesn't look too time consuming to break down, though.

Yeah, its not up too high up there on my list either :)

However, it is a nice feature if it isn't a PITA to get it broken down, and a feature that no other skimmer that I know of offers. Probably one of their selling points over the BK's.

I like to hear back from a user as opposed to the vendor though. According to the "any" vendor, I'm sure their products are the best, and easiest in all aspects ;)

Yeah, hopefully Sang and Perry can give us their experience.

Initially, I was happy about the fact that the ATB could be broken down. I thought this was a great workaround to the fact that I have a tall sump. However, after seeing the pics, I still would not be able to get the skimmer body out of my sump.

I think it's a nice feature but one I wont be using anytime soon. I can just take the whole skimmer, run it in the bathtub, and scrape it using a brush. I probably will never take it apart unless I am extremely bored.

Yeah, thats what I figured. I wouldn't be dismantling more than once a year (if that).

I was really just curious about the operation itself. Not much info posted about that.

:D Ditto!

GSM - I think you're right. The SM250's can be taken apart. I think the base plate unscrews, but I'll probably never do that.

I've been doing a lot of reading on this new skimmer and there seems to be a lot of comment about the bubbles just floating up the conical body to the collection cup. Is your video running fast as I don't see the bubble movement any slower than other skimmers?

Also, most skimmers do not have a 2nd layer bubble plate, so the bottom of the skimmer can be cleaned with just a little bit of effort. One won't be able to get to the area below the bubble plate models for cleaning, so my opinion is this is a great feature that ATB came up with. Maybe others will follow suit.

Hey Sang, is the video running fast? :D

Shaddup! Go ask your questions in your own BK thread!:p
