New Tunze 9006 now generating foam...

I replaced an old skimmer (a low-end Coralife) by a new Tunze 9006 two days ago... Nothing wrong with the old skimmer except that I just wanted a skimmer more efficient and easier to clean.... In other words, this is a established tank which I am sure would produce foam.... Since I installed the Tunze I have not seen much... The instructions say that it could take up to a couple of weeks to produce enough bubbles to reach the cup....

The water is at the water line and the airflow has 1.5 full turns.

Is is normally having to wait weeks for a established aquarium which used to produce a lot of foam with a least efficient skimmer? (I can understand for a new aquarium which is unknown if it has enough bioload).

Thanks for your recommendation.

New Tunze 9006 NOT generating foam...

(sorry everybody... I meant that the skimmer is NOT generating foam).

The air needs to be open much more, 3 turns is the minimum to get any skimming and 4-5 is more likely to produce. In general some skimming should start within 3 days, the skimmer will not reach its full break in and optimum function though for about 2 weeks.
