New Tunze 9011 loose chamber inside

I just finished receiving and installing my new 9011 to replace my 9010 and keep it as backup but noticed the chamber that is attached inside the 9010 is not in the 9011. Was this done by design or do I have a defective 9011?

It's running but now have some serious micro bubbles in the tank that the 9010 did not produce.

Please let me know what I need to do to resolve, and I thank you in advance.

While I cannot speak to the chambers I will say microbubbles are common on any new skimmer. Typically skimers that are new produce more microbubbles for the first few days to couple weeks.

Thanks for the quick response Shawn. I hope the skimmer is not defective but if it is, I know Roger will make it right for me. This is the reason I went with another Tunze.

I assume you mean the silencer assembly? The clear pipe with the black hose at top and the silicon hose from the bottom to the pump? I am not sure if this was changed again so I need to check with the factory, originally on the 3130, this part was not glued, with the 9010 they started gluing it, the extra step of gluing was added because this part was improved by better plastics over time as new materials like the silicon tubing became more readily available, in the days of the 3130 and 3130/2 the vinyl tubing and other parts wore out and this silencer had to be replaced every few years so it wasn't glued. It is very possible they went back to no glue because it may be desirable to replace it after many years and the gluing really didn't do anything other than make it neater inside. I will check.

Thanks Roger, as always! As long as it will not cause a performance issue, no worries. I Love my Tunzes and the 9010 is getting its vinegar bath as we speak for storage.

the silencer are not glued by the 9011 ! It's more easy to clean.
