Great tanks everyone!

DrBRC What type of camera are you using?

I'm using a Z650. I have a DX6340 that's half the pixels and I think I can take better pics with that. I just got the Z650 for Christmas so it will take awhile I guess. I have no idea how to use all that manual settings stuff so I use auto and turn on the auto macro. Pics are missing any blue in them too. I switched my actinics out w/aquablue plus because I thought I'd get more power and still get some blue. Well I didn't know aquablue plus were about 11,000 bulbs. Just delivered today are some actinic vho's! That's my project tonight.

I had run 3 ft actinics but the actinic of a t5ho stinks. My pc actinics had better glow fwiw. Not as bright but better glow.

WOW!!!

I go away for a few days and all these amazing tanks appear!!!

Great job guys!!

Thank you all for leading the way and preserving our hobby and way of life.

Awesome!!

Sunny: Your tank is beautiful and very impressive! How old is your system? Come-on spill your secrets!!!

Great job!

Tried to take a side profile of the tank... but it didn't turn out too clearly... but here it is... :)

Your tank is really awesome! I would love to see a bonsai reef like yours be TOTM someday. I like mature reefs but I also really like the variety of corals you have, how clean your tank is, and how colorful your corals are. There is no doubt in my mind that your tank has got what it takes.

Thanks for the very motivating words... sometimes I do need some kind words like that to keep myself going... it's been really tiring and time-consuming to keep a reef tank running and I do hope it would mature into a nice reef tank, but that might be some time away as Im still shifting corals around and adding a few here and there... and there's also a constant cluminess in knocking corals over and hence having to stick them up again... it goes on and on... :P

Here's my contribution - this 120 SPS BB is in my 7th grade science lab - I have been teaching at this school for 8 years - the reef has been going for 3 - enjoy

Whos next???

I know there are more great pictures out there!!!!

Awesome tanks again...anyone know what kind of fish those are in Leonardo's reef in the third pic? Looks like some sort of chromi/damsel type fish(shoaling)...havent seen them in the lfs maybe i could find them online.

Thank you! My students (7th graders = 12 year olds) love the corals and fish - every year several of them start reefs of their own at home....one of my students from last year started a 175 gallon reef!

Serioussnaps, those are Apogon Leptacanthus - Blue eyed Cardinals in Leonardo's reef.

Some great looking tanks in this thread.

actually i think they are threadfin or blue streak cardinals...blue eyes are extremely drab..i think ORA breeds them.....either way thanks!!! The latin name was right!

Snaps - If you get a chance to see these fish under MH, then you'll see why I call them Blue-eyed cardinals, there eyes sparkle like sapphires truly awesome.
I've got 9 in my 75g, try and get as many as you can they look great in a large shoal.

Very nice tank Greg C, thanks for sharing!

This are Apogon Leptacanthus. The availability here in Europe is quite good. This are true shoaling fish. Not as agressive as the Chomis-species.
Right now I have 9 in my tank, but this wil finally grow to a shoal of 25-30, swimming through the Formosa-Forest ;)
