Micheal (especially),

(Yes I have loaded the wiki page and have been reading all of the RC posts)

I can't find the post about Tunze pumps (search function busy again). Thought it was said to try 3-8 volts. Tried that. Pumps staying at 30%, my minimum set. Was working for a while.

I have a single 6101 in a 90 gal. Trying to get a gentle solid circulation with my different rock setup (piles on either side, open middle as it is a see through the wall from two rooms display). What I have it set at right now is:

Mode: Random Min Dur. 30min Max Dur. 30min
Waves: Sinus Duration 10s Random red. 0%
Min: 30% Max: 80% Night 50% Storm 100%

I tried setting all over the place and some corals getting hammered while there is still scum on surface. Trying to replace my soft but under circulated Hydor 4 and 2 Hydor 3's.

Suggested settings?????

Updates.... Is it the duration settings?

I changed duration min and max to 5 sec (not sure what that is doing for 1 pump, understand for multiple) thought same time setting left single pump always active in wave action.

Min: 30% Max: 70% ........
and changed L8 to the same settings as L7 thinking I could have the wrong port....

Working incrementally but don't know why and not getting a good flow...

Also, in PC program (looking around to try and learn it) everytime I click Level sensors, it crashes....

I've got beta version 3.08 (thats all I could find) english version aquariumcomputer.com site is under construction. Running with firmware 4.01.

Any input on how to set up my pump?

Thanks.

Hiya

If you are just getting a solid flow then you do not have the right Tunze in the right port

Tunze 1 reacts to odd number L ports i.e 1-3-5
Tunze 2 reacts to evens L ports i.e 2-4-6

To find out what Tunze cable you have if you have switched two cables, program an L port to illumination 1 and then use the manual dim mode and ramp it up and down, if the pump reacts in that port you know which cable you have.

Finding the "sweet" spot really is a personal thing to your tank and enviroment.

I would suggest lowering the max down a lot until you get a flow pattern that suits your tank then slowly increasing the flow.

A lot of people (and this includes me in the past) work on the principle "becuase it can, I must" in other words just becuase the pump can run flat out I must run it flat out. Hope that makes sense

So play with the settings in low running speed, find one that suits and then increase the max until you have reached the limit that your tank can handle

Lorin is correct about miss matched firmware/software also

Thanks. I'm going to update software first then try.

Michael... It is working ramping up and down on L7 with Tunze cable 1. Todd has been helping me and I will be using L1-4 for lights. Just guess I'm not understanding the settings. What is the duration setting for and how do I set it for one pump always on random mode? Now set to Min and Max 5 seconds, it seems to wave for 5 seconds then hold on to min power setting for 5.
Also, I am using the 24v jumper, but am willing to turn it down rather than not have enough.....

Yea, frustrated but still more fun than my (not to be named) plug and and can't do much controller, that I am replacing this with.

Thanks....

the duration is for how long you want the random mode to run for until it selects another sequence.

I know it sucks to say this, but one of the best features of the written manual is on the pump control, it is quite in depth and helpful

Yer I know! have manual, throw out with wrapper, then figure it out, but in this case it is worth annoying the wife for 30 mins leaving the side light on and reading that chapter.

Good luck!

No crash. The beta version had some nice new features but we seem stable now....

See how I'm just missing the boat then.....Read it before I ever purchased it and have it open now. Under stand for more than one powerhead....just wanted the one to always be on wave action.

Is 3 to 8v the right setting...

Love the support. You've been on me from the time my eyes opened. Please see the added:

Guess what is killing me is, when I first got is activated, it was random all over the place......Was that in the 30 min default and it just went into 30 minutes of lowest power setting while I was still playing with it?

the 3 to 8V is fine this stops the pump being over driven.

if it was working fine then stopped while playing with it, the only thing i can think of is that you did not press save and load.

Will catch up in the morning how you get on. Got new product catalogue website to crack on through the night with :(

I'll keep playing for sure. Thanks. I didn't always save when I just wanted to load something to try, keeping settings that worked. Catch you tomorrow.....

Todd is on holiday at the moment and running on a reduced service. I think he came back yesterday.

If you cant reach him today give me a shout on email
