I currently have the following fish and want to add a Blue Face Angel Fish. Will they get along as all do now?
2 Clownfish, Blue Chromis, blue tang, sailfin tang, purple tang, bangi Cardinal. 75 gallon tank.

Wow, in a nice way, you have to start researching before you buy fish. A blue face is not a good fit for a 75 Gallon tank, look at some of the dwarf angels instead (flame, potters, flameback, lemon peel....)

blue tang, sailfin tang, purple tang all three of these should be re-homed as they require more space then you have

Holy Moly... With the other fish you have, you can pretty much have a flame angel, or (just barely) a yellow tang, if you rehome ALL of your other tangs.. For just the current fish you have, you need a tank approx 1-1/2 times what you have now, at a minimum - preferrably upwards of 200 gallons.

This issue has discussed at nauseum in this forum. These fish will get bigger and way too big for this tank. First bring back the tangs to the LFS and get a refund unless you have plans in the works for a much bigger tank. I would also not consider a BF as Ray put it. A dwarf angel would work. Other idea- take a look at a flame hawk fish - a really fun fish to watch as he scoots around the tank and finds a perch to hang out on.

Read up though -check live aquaria for tank size recommendations for whatever fish you are considering. I would also recommend checking your fish selections here before purchasing them and if these tangs were sold to you from a LFS knowing your tank size, find a new LFS store. Good luck.

Please see above
You are overstocked.
Add wrasse or flame angel after bringing back the tangs . They do not belong in a 75g.

Plus, assuming you have a reef, it is in danger.... My blueface ate every soft coral you could imagine.... Beautiful fish though.....definitely worth an upgrade

I would suggest not buying the blue face and saving that cash for buying a bigger tank. The tangs you have are small now but will grow quickly. The current fish you have you need to find a 180g tank for starters

Bristletooth tangs would be the only fairly acceptable tang to have in a 75, and with that 1 only. +1 on rethinking buying a larger tank

Yup. I've seen a purple tang kept in a 75 for years, but the sailfin definitely needs to go. It will quickly out grow the tank. The blue tang as well. Sorry.

OP get ready for the tang heat. If your keeping a tang under the 3 digit tank mark the TP will come get you lol.

Many tangs are incredibly hardy and that's half of the problem with the constant tang bickering. If your goal is to just keep a fish alive, that's easy. If you want it to thrive, that means space. I've seen many PTs (and other fish) in tanks that are too small, they pale in comparison to the same species with adequate room. But, hey its's alive and eating and you can do it too!

But look what you can keep together if you do daily water changes! :debi:

That's just wrong. :evisite2:

That is cruel! People are fed up sometimes. A kid in his teens was about to buy a baby humu trigger. The staff member (knowledgeable) was going to bag him for the customer. I politely asked the teen what size tank do you have? He said 30 gallon but then he said I plan on upgrading to a 55. I informed him that this fish would need a 120-180 gallon and some almost hit a foot long.

His mother's eyes just went to bug mode. They both thanked me and the kid said he will do more reading before buying. I ask the worker why he didn't ask the kid? Most of the time he alrady has an idea. He agreed with what i said but if the owner found out he be less than happy that the fish wasn't sold. Shame but I guess I can see both pov. The owner needing pay the bills but what about moral obligation to the live stock you sell?

I sometimes tell people to visit the nj aquarium and look at the fish they have and take note what size tanks they use.
