Next Meeting Group Snail Buy

A big thanks to dl1030 for putting it together and to Thillt for bringing them! :)

I've ordered from them before and it looks like the same boneyard of shells I've had in the past. I'd give them a week or so to move around and they'll be fine.

Little off topic, but nice looking tank Slovan. I like the variety of zoa's.

Thanks bgreenlee! It's always nice to hear others say nice things about our tanks considering the time and effort we put into this crazy hobby. :)

What, like driving an hour to pick up some snails?! Next time someone asks if I want to go out for dinner and I've got an order to pick up I'll refrain from mentioning details, maybe then I can avoid the strange looks... don't tell me I'm the only one.

Give the snails a little time, they may still come around. I had a few just sit in one spot for 24 hrs, the next day they were all gone. I think I only lost 5-10, most were blue leg meals. this includes the bag of Bob's I forgot I was holding onto until he didnt call me back.

OK, I think I have one emerald crab left in my sump and he is not falling for the food in a tiped glass trick. He is tucked deep in a rock and i am just waiting for him to come out. Does anyone have any other trap ideas to get him out of the rock? I dont want to send the rock he is in to DM.

glaspie69 and Bullet, let me know when you are on my side of town and i will grab your snails from my tank. an extra 100 snails makes my tank look real busy!

Thanks Keys! I was happy with the size of all the livestock and it sounds like we only had a few fatalities.

The snails I have I think are all alive, a couple of the astreas havent moved, but they are alive.

The ceriths may be on crack, im not sure, they are covering a lot of distance.

Well some of the astreas didn't make it, but the crabs and bristleworms appreciated the easy meals.

I lost about 10 out of the 30 astreas (shells were empty or had bristle woms crawling out of them)

Everything else seems to be doing good though. Can't believe how big the astreas are!

I did notice 2 of my BL now have new homes thanks to some dead astreas though! :D

I've heard one way to get crabs out of rock is to take the rock out of the tank/sump. Hopefully you know which rock it's in. Then dump seltzer water down the hole it's in. It should come running out of the hole. Not sure if that will help. Also don't know if that will kill it or not? But I've heard of people doing that to get gorilla crabs and stuff out of their rock.
