Ok, so this thread morphed from 'what do i need' to 'how do i build an acrylic tank'.
LOL
I would not go with an acrylic display tank. People choose acrylic b/c it's lighter and really, until you get up around 300g (if not more than that) I wouldn't consider it. Like Lauren said, it will scratch very easily.
As for your equipment, I suggest making a needs and a wants list. Things you'll need to just run the tank and then the list of things to add as your tank matures and you can work them into the budget.
Lights: I like T5s and have 8 of them. You have nice color combination options available and they don't hog electricity. Other options are halides, VHOs, and LEDs. LEDs are the up and coming choice and are still expensive. VHOs are an older method, but will grow beautiful corals. You should research the costs and benefits of each method and decide what is right for you. Consider the cost and frequency of replacing the bulbs as well as the cost of the initial fixture.
Powerheads: I like Koralias and Tunzes. They both move a lot of water with low wattage. What you choose here will depend on the size of the tank. There are many options for powerheads and lots of opinions on them as well.
Return pump: really depends on the size of the tank and the height for the return. In water vs. out and the amount of water you need to move.
Heater: I think you said you have this covered?
Refugium Light: spotlight and flourescent bulb of 65k from Walmart.
Sand, Rock, rubble cheato and water.
Now, other equipment that you will likely want....
skimmer, RODI unit (if your tank is >75g), calcium reactor, controller, back up power supply, and this list could go on and on and on. There is always something new coming out.
Good Luck. Go slow and read, read, read.
