nice 1200 buck fish here

I knew someone who got a Hotumatau angel for around that same price, and about 2 days after he put it in his tank, it started nipping all of his corals. That's a dilemma.

The marinecenter is way over priced. But here is mine.

Can they be kept in pairs or schools?

Assuming they're like most pygmy angels, they'd probably do better as a harem with multiple females. (Yes, I know you were kidding, but that doesn't mean there's not someone out there who really does want to give it a shot.)

They've gone from $500. to $600 on the wholesale list recently for wild caught variety. They captive raise ones have been $499. for the last few years....

This is way over priced , but there are always people who will pay it.

Wolverine, when did ya see a hotumatua for sale?

Jeffie, I dont think captive bred interruptus are available for quite some time.

A couple of years ago in Omaha (at a store that unfortunately no longer exists). They had a shipment that included that hotumatua and a black tang together. That would have been a pricey box to get stuck on a tarmac somewhere (no, that didn't happen here, but it could have).

Yeup Yeup!

They are crazy priced

anything from Japan is going to be though.. thats just business talking for you!

Its triple price over the price in Asia, freight from Japan to USA should be low cause of the competition.
But never mind.

I know RCT sells them, but did you try to buy?
He dont have any for sale for quite sometime .

Snorvich, like any centropyge it has the potential to become a problem with corals. I have a female Bellus angel, she is a gem but is not in a tank with sps. She is kept with euphyllias, leathers and softies.

waterfaller1- not sure if you have your facts straight. Frank at RCT told me that early fall he should have some available.... He did not discontinue them.

Captive bread ones are likely close to 100% reef safe because, they have never seen a coral in their life. Frank has them eating prepared food.

Now wild ones are like any other angel, I have a wild one in my 275 SPS tank and he is fine with SPS, LPS, clams and zoos.

P.S. not sure if you guys know this or not, but Frank sold a pair of young Centropyge debelius to Japan a few months ago...

There were pics on some website in Japan. It was posted about in an angel thread here in the reef fish forum.

Hmm... I might have been confused with the mutifasciatus..the multibarred angel. I was told he was raising them ,but was'nt anymore. Apologize for any misinformation.;)

Last year RCT were saying interruptus will be avilebale again in 2006, now it's becoming fall-winter , there have some kind of a problem there which is none of my business, but this species will not be availble close to 2 yrs (captive).
