Niger freinds?

No it's 100 total gallons.

With your sump? While that 8 gallons will help with your bioload you are talking about putting 2 fish that can quickly reach over a foot and are somewhat active in the water column together with 3-4 other fish as you mentioned it in your other thread. Obviously you are going to do what you want, but keep in mind that you can plan as many upgrades as you want but until there is a larger tank sitting in your living room nothing is for sure.

Good luck with your aquarium.

Dude, I AM NOT planning on getting anymore fish until I get a bigger tank. Relax. I 'm just planning for the future, that's all.

Sorry, after Clown Trigger guy and a few other recent posters I (and many others) have to remain skeptical. As I said before, good luck!

I have a niger trigger in my reef with a variety of different fish and he plays nice. He is only about 3 to 4 inches though.

They are gluttons so be prepared to feed a lot more than you did. This guys would eat a whole cube to himself if I would let him and he is still rather small. I've got wrasses, a tang, clown, other small fish and he doesn't even give them a second look.

NP. I actually like my fish a lot. I don't want him to be unhappy, and my wife won't let me get rid of him. So, she gave me the OK to start looking for a bigger tank. I just haven't decided what I will get when I get the tank up and running.

I have a Niger and a Pink Tail in my reef tank. Nigers about 4" and Pink Tail is about 6". Both are model citizens in my tank, but the Niger will chase the Pink Tail off, if he hangs out in his area too long. Can't really answer you other questions. HTH

My S&S got along well with a Niger that was with him. He really just ignored everyone but me actually. Sorry for the blurry pics but I found these on my photobucket acct from years ago:

ok thanks for all the info/help everyone. seems like most of the people just have experiance with the not mature nigers so far but the few people with matuer nigers seem to have 'horror stories' in a sence, yay :/ completely different than i thought.... guess that means im stupid :P

id keep the niger longer but im afriad of 'munch munch munch' after the undulated incident..... ill see what i can do, my problem is the fish i 'love' are too aggressive and too big for the 55 lol. and the other fish that i 'love' but arent too large/aggressive arent the easy, throw in some pellets, fish. :hmm:

i knwo dylan but im not good with remembering to feed frozen/live, its hard work for me atm. i can throw in pellets for the niger and im good to go lol.

Welcome to my world. It's why I'm just finishing up the touches on a new 300gallon tank to house only four fish. Dogface/Harlequin Tusk/Trigger/Foxface and I'm going to see how long the flame hawkfish lasts. He's too awesome to give up. Got to remember that "mature" for these fish means a foot long. 6 inches is still a baby really.

It took awhile to get my wife in love with our puffer and trigger enough to agree to turning our dining room into a huge fishtank room. BUT I DID IT, YEAH! :fish2: :celeb1: :fish2: (uh...I mean WE did it. lol)

lol well im currently seeing how much a 72"x30"x30" tank with stand from miracles would cost. think thatll be ok for a niger? im planning on putting other fish in it (not sure yet, i dont know if it is a fowlr or reef) but i figured the niger would like the tank. i doubt i can sell him to someone locally so i guess i have to make the best of things.
