Nigripes experience

I'm picking up a pair of Nigripes this week that my LFS obtained from Sustainable Aq. They are tank bred & about an inch in length. The store has had them about 10 days.

I'm looking for any suggestions or experiences people have had with them. I'm hoping they will accept my H. Malu as a host, knowing that's not their natural host.

I've kept Percs, Maroons & clarkiis previously so I'm not a newb with clowns, just with these guys.

Current pix of ORA tank bred (2002) / H. malu ('07) They're not too picky about anemone's but absolutely do best with one present.

being captive bred, youve basically skipped all the problems a wild caught one would involve....particularly the sudden death part within three days of entering your aquarium.
im pretty sure youll find theyre a lot like other clowns, maybe a bit more shy at first. i doubt youll have much to worry about as far as acclimation goes. i was very impressed with the SA nigripes.

post some pictures of their progress!

Thanks for the responses........

Where do they rank with respect to disposition, rearranging, ect.

i think once they are paired, they can be pretty aggressive. mine certainly corral my chromis and damsels far away from the anemones. since my anemones are up on the rocks, i cant say whether they rearrange or dig.

Thanks............a 3 is cool.

Any experience as jumpers? My maroons always stayed glued to the bottom of the tank in their territories.

I've had percs jump out.

Btw, I just got back from picking them up. They're in great shape. I'll follow up once they settle in.

The one I had for many years was in a BTA and never ventured more than a few inches from it. Open top also.

Mine jumped once about two or three years ago. At the time i was seated 4' from the glass opened a magazine to read then it jumped out of the open top 6'Long aquarium.

Thanks, I mainly wanted nice black "feet". One of the four at the store didn't have much black.

I had a pair that hosted a GBTA. I had them in a 150 with a pair of Onyx Percs. Neither pair ventured over to mess with each other.
