there were some collected last year (Feb 2013)...was 1993 prior to that...

no...it was collected in early 2000 too...a specimen is still alive in Japan...hope yours will live as long...:beer:

They were not collected for sale in 2000...they were collected for sale in 93, feb 2013, and sept 2013 is all I meant...

While the people that will be purchasing these fish are not your average reefer, I hope that several of them, like Humaguy, will come online and document their journey with these fish.
It's not often that we get a chance to learn about a "new" fish in the hobby. While I know these are not the first collected, but this puts several fish in the hands of hobbyists and it will be interesting to see how challenging these beauties are going to be.

There were some floating around Japan in the mid to late 2000's...although these could theoretically have been from he 1993 batch.

It's interesting to read this thread. Half the retailers or importers who claim to be bringing peppermints into the US I've never even spoken to. It seems as if everyone is trying to find a buyer and then worry about seeing whether they can actually get a fish later. The only person that will definately be getting one of these is humaguy. There will be a few more avaliable but the number is extremely limited.

though i believe divers have to rely on whole-sellers and lfs for their long time benefits,for this type of fish it is ok to sell to hobbyist directly whenever the opportunity appears...
