That is a great idea. I didn't add the controler to the system when I moved the tank over because it was a spur of the moment decision and I didn't have everything with me. The next time I need to drain the whole tank, I will add the controller and a thin sheet to the bottom of the tank. So far it seems to be pretty solid (knock on wood)

Haha I feel your frustration. Where I live, we never get nice zoos - because I think they are reserved for higher paying markets. I was fortunate to buy this frag from another reefer about a year ago. It seems healthy but the polyps haven't increased in number at all since I bought them - not like the poo colored ones that grow like weeds

Of course, your problem may just be marketing... when it comes to zoanthids, the way they look seems to be second in importance to what kind of snazy/crazy/ridiculous name their owner can come up with. After all, "poo colored zoos" may be a better description but you wont sell as many as you would if you called them "purple people eaters"

I know your past your bottom ATM, still I would like to add my 2c.
I have tanks with black acrylic on the bottom and they look much nicer than the white BB. Poo looks like sand on black BB, where as Poo looks like... poo on white BB.

Good point about the black acrylic. f I ever decide to go BB I may give it a shot. Black would blend in with my bulkheads better than white too...

Thanks bro! I use Studio 10 by Pinnacle. It is really easy to use and is able to do everything that I would ever need. I have used their stuff for the last 5 years and it is all good.

i bet they taste like poo! they started to get a nice baby green color but the mantis moved the frag into a dark corner, now the color is lost! im goin to the lfs this week, hopefully they will have better colors! and nice video!

It's been a while since I saw this thread and man has your tank evolved. Im glad to see it looks good. Why did you choose the mantis over a small pair of clowns or a few small gobies? Im just curious.
