We will not have a December meeting since many people are very busy this month with family and Christmas parties. Our next event will be the Frag Swap at Nashville this January. There last frag swap was pretty good with many vendors, so you should try to make it if possible.

I wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving. Stay safe and enjoy spending time with family.

Take care.

Ok, me and my wife were really looking forward to it and seeing everyone and also playing dirty santa.:sad2:

It's like people only wanna do it during the summer excuse me for being blunt but I don't understand why join a club and be apart of It if your not going to participate. I understand if you have something come up or something, but I know the last club I was in which was a freshwater club in southbend indiana you were required to make so many meeting or be removed from the roster. We are here to help each other out about tanks, share knowledge, we even would let other members use equipment if we had extra and it was needed, and we even helped fellow members out on things that say if I had it and another person needed it and I was selling it we sold it to a member cheaper or worked trades out then sold what I traded for, but I don't really see this happing or even being offered. It seems as if it don't benefit them they aren't willing to help. Also we always had something posted on forums to discuss (to keep involvement) But it is what it is thanks for letting me rant and Rave

I am the king (ok a great disciple lol) of ranting and feel your pain but since you posted yours I will respond to it.

The club is not even half a year old yet. Give it time to evolve a little. All clubs have a lot of people who just join and check it out and find it is not for them or just doesn't fit their schedule. Typically Nov/Dec are tricky months as the season takes a toll on personal time. It can take some time to build a "core group" that gets built on. There are so many people out there who are into this kind of thing and have no idea the club even exists. It has been built and they will come...

Wow if that was in place for a free club like this I doubt I would be a part of it to begin with. Were there a lot of incentives to be "on the roster"? was there a membership fee or anything?

We are here to help each other out about tanks, share knowledge, we even would let other members use equipment if we had extra and it was needed, and we even helped fellow members out on things that say if I had it and another person needed it and I was selling it we sold it to a member cheaper or worked trades out then sold what I traded for, but I don't really see this happing or even being offered.

I agree 100% about the sharing of knowledge and helping out. I think a few members here have helped tremendously on a few occasions already. As far as the sales to members and cheaper items etc, of course that would be a personal thing but again you have to give it time. I have only been to 2 meetings so far and have yet to meet hardly anyone from the club. I think over time as people get to know each other better you will see more and more of that "club benefit".

Also we always had something posted on forums to discuss (to keep involvement)

Again, hard time of year for some and still a young group. give it time. There will be slow and busy times I assure you. I have been in a few of these clubs and they all have really slow and busy times. Sometimes all it takes is a few of the highly involved to get a little busy and it can slow a board down.

That's true David about giving it time to evolve I guess I was thinking that it's been around a longer than it actually had....I know the ones I was in before was going for several years so that also explains alot of the other things also with pretty much all of it...
Like I had said before and I hope nobody actually took it personal if so I'm sorry what I posted wasn't intended for that it was mainly to state how I seen previous clubs involvement and participation. Constructive critique could help improve things ad I guess I'm just gun ho you can say :-)
Thanks again for the valid point that you had made it totally slipped my mind.

I forgot to answer part of the question that you had asked sorry.... Yes there was a annual membership but it was nothing outrageous if I remember it was like 40.00 a year but it included a subscription to some type of magazine and things ( it's been 16-17 years ago).

I know I get pretty gung ho sometimes as well, it is in my nature so I understand where you are coming from.

I know when Marcus and David set this club up they were very specific in not wanting any monies in fees or whatever to become a mandatory part of it. Also they did not want any kind of leader, president or committees in an effort to keep it very fun and free for everyone. I think we have all seen the clubs that can get out of control from the above things.

I think too you will find that there area a lot of people who just come in and lurk around and never post. Hopefully at some point these people will eventually come to a meeting or two and join the club as well.

I know I was in the hobby for a number of years before I even knew anything about Reef Central.

That is a awesome thing that Marcus and David have started along with no dues and to keep it fun :-) it's appreciated by all. I'm akways trying to recruit more members.. I guess I get bunch of time to get on here especially since I do it mostly when I'm driving the truck so I understand that lots are pressed got time and like all family comes first
