So here's the story, I just moved to a new place and tore my tank down until I could get settled in. I gave my my entire setup to my brother who lives in Eureka to hold on to for a while until I could set it up again.
Yesterday, the house he was staying in with his friends (and where the tank was setup) had a gas line break and the house literal exploded
My brother and one of his friends were out of the house but the other friend was lost in the explosion.
Its trivial to worry about my fish tank and equipment when a life was lost but here is what went up in the flames.
- 120g Megaflow tank
- 65 gallon glass sump
- custom metal stand from Jeff
- Euro Reef RS180 skimmer
- Titanium digital heater and controller
- mag 12 return pump
- 2 lumenarc minis and ballasts
- powerheads (seios, koralias)
- and I'm sure some other stuff
All in all, I am just glad my tank was lost instead of my brother. I am fine losing everything to still have him in my life.
With this huge loss, I'm not sure when I'll be back in the game, but I will still try to be around
Thanks for everything
