Mindstream Aquarium Monitoring System device is a total aquarium monitoring system that automatically takes measurements of multiple aquarium parameters such as pH, dKH, ammonia, NO2, NO3, Ca, Mg, salinity, oxygen, and temperature ... yeah, basically everything you'd ever test for. And it does this without test reagents or strips, and transmits data wirelessly to boot!

From their Facebook page on Nov 12:

Beta Test Offers: At this point, we are in the final stages of calibration (with monitors under development for two years including 15 months in test chambers) and have already partnered with our initial group of beta testers. We appreciate your offers to participate and will reach out if additional testing is needed.

Product Release Timing: We are excited to introduce our product into the US market early next year with plans for international expansion shortly thereafter.

Price: At the moment we are finalizing manufacturing costs and expect the units to be under $600.

Distribution: We are in the process of finalizing our distribution model in the US and will reach out to those interested in helping us expand internationally in early 2014.

This would be sweet for sure, but agree its a little hefty, and agree i wouldnt be the first to buy untils its proven accurate. And it says the "foil" has to be replaced every 90 days. What if the "foil is another $100, thats $400 a year, ouch.

thought the same thing. lets hope it proves to have a viable economic model behind it; even if it doesn't work, economic theory predicts that someone will come along and make it work.

I'm going to Barrier Reef tomorrow (shout out to Dave for the referral)

Will see what intel I can pump from them.....

This is the ultimate in aquarium perfection...if it works, is reliable and is easy to use. If it needs complex calibration it won't work for most...hell I have trouble calibrating my refractometer and that's easy.

But with what many of us spend on our tanks this might be the ultimate in control.

we should be able to program this to tell our dosers when to dose the appropriate amount of cal/alk every 15 minutes based on each independent decrease to keep the number rock solid. imagine the growth with that stability

Once it's proven reliable, $600 is small potatoes. I dropped over $100 on a Phosphate colorimeter, and have tossed out a few dozen 1/2 used $30 test kits because they were expired. The foil thing might be an issue, but if I can stop counting drops, I'm interested at 6 hundred bux.

I'm sure I will be on the boat early as long as the specs look reasonable. $600? I spent $3000 on an early set of LED's and it turned out to be crap, some people(like me) never learn!!!
