The fact that you follow the same vein of lazy husbandry nullifies your opinion somewhat. Are you really qualified to say that water changes aren't required, simply because your tank, along with a few others, isn't crashing? At what rate do the trace elements found in reef aquariums deplete. You probably need to calm down with the attitude, he is simply showing what works for him. As many other people have already stated including myself water changes are beneficial but are not a must. This forum is about learning and sharing experiences not putting down others.
This forum is about learning, not about coddling those who take a reckless path in the hobby. Yes, it is just a hobby as someone said. Although, we're allowed to lord over hundreds or thousands of (albeit basic) animals. It's a responsibility, not just a box of water. If you can't be bothered to act responsibly, maybe you should find another hobby.
