Hi,
I bought a used tunze 6025. It was 4 months old when I bought it. I read the instructions not to heat it only after I had put it into quite hot water (50-60C) for a couple minutes, . It was silent when I bought it, but after I had put it into my aquarium, it makes a noticeable buzzing/rattling sound.
The plastic washer shed a portion of its outer diameter on the impeller. Like it came off as a hollow circle, leaving a smaller washer behind.
I soaked it in vinegar overnight after the noises and all the coralline algae came off. The impeller had a little bit of rust on the steel shaft, but nothing flaking off. No sand got into the impeller, it was noisy before any sand could get into it.
Any ideas what I should try, or failing that which common parts I should replace? Thanks.
Someone suggested the little rubber feet may have fallen off. One on the outside and one on the inside did, but it isn't all that much quieter if I keep it off the glass.
Thanks
