so I have a rimless 48 X 30 X 21. I'm sure this question's been asked already .
I am looking for med size fish.

So far I have:
7 blue chromis
fox face
Blue tang.

I have lost two Occellaris clowns due to jumpimg. Unfortunately I am not willing to cover the tank.
Any advice will be appreciated.

Thank you!

Angels are very capable of jumping out of a rimless. I think it's more a case of what facilitates the leap. IME an unnoticed swimming crab scared all the fish, and the jumping happened at lights out. Problem is if anything startles them enough to jump, it will happen rimless tank or not. HTH.

Mandarins IME don't spend a lot of time where there aren't rocks, so if your aquascape is like most, I'd consider them if you have enough copepods.

I know that even certain pipefish can jump, but seahorses definitely don't have the ability to jump.

Every fish has possibility of jumping
That is simply not true. There are quite a few fish that are anatomically incapable of jumping.
Only fish that can swim fast enough to get the necessary momentum can actually jump.

95% of the fish we keep are capable of jumping.

I've open top and keep a Tang, 6line wrasse, tailspot blenny, tracey's damsel, Randal's anthia's(had 3 and 2 jumped), Bangai cardinal. Aside from Anthia's everything doing well and open topped several years. Had a Possum wrasse that jumped, too. Screen top would be good call for most. Good luck!

I think it's closer to 99%...

Once I saw a dwarf lionfish jump about a foot out of the water at the pet store trying to avoid being netted. Once I saw that I decided that every fish was more or less capable of escaping an aquarium without a top.
