Big snow hitting my area today thru till tomorrow. I checked the generator, changed the gas and oil, and ran all my extension cords. i can run my tank, fridge, lights and coffee maker. All the necessities!! If we need to use the coffee maker, toaster oven, or coffee maker, we unplug the fridge for a few minutes. I will NOT unplug my tank!

I'm all prepared too!!! I'm just north of Albany NY !!! this is the first real snowstorm in years!!! hopefully we don't lose power.. but I'm ready if we do!!!!

Good Luck to you borderreef!!!

you guys be safe up there. Down here in Texas we freak out if it rains too long! Sometimes I think I would trade the snow you have for the heat here. Anyway, be safe and good luck! Let us know how everything works out!

According to our sources, we're getting somewhere between a "wintery mix" and complete and utter annihilation. They've even composed a theme song so I guess we're done for. See you on the other side.

I'm just a couple towns over from you in Oxford.Snow at a good pace, but not crazy yet.
Still at work, but we'll be leaving soon.
I tested the generators yesterday and the snow blower as well.
Wood stove is cranking along and I have over a cord of seasoned maple,so heat is not an issue.
Gassed up my 4x4 truck this morning. One gas station I frequent was out of gas.

Thanks for the concern.
We're all pretty used to this stuff up here.Although last year was pretty quiet.
In some ways it's pretty cool to have that feeling of isolation for a short period of time. The roads quickly become impassable and the quietness, nothing but the wind is kind of nice in a way.
Best way to get kids off video games and ipads.lol

Just as long as you don't see Jim Cantore in your home town you may survive. They always send him to where it's going to be the worst. I see that dude and I'm outta there! Snowing at a good clip a little north of you in CT but they say this is just the teaser.

He was standing on the overpass in Boston with the Lenny Zakim bridge behind him last night.lol
Holding a yard stick of all things.:lol2:

I was upgraded from 18-24" to 3ft with 5-7ft snow drifts......winter is my favorite season but not for my fish so I'm all prepared for the power outages

I'm likely to be called out of state to respond to the outages. Tank is just finished cycling. Wifey knows what to do if I have to leave home.

we are expecting to get 10-16" yay us!!! lol not!! people are acting like its the end of the world around here!!! Grocery store didn't have any water! batteries are all sold out! I just wanted some hand warmers lol thankfully I found some at the local gas station. (:

Oh... did I hear right?? Are they calling the storm "Nemo" ??? :lmao: that makes me think of the warm, beautiful ocean... not a huge, cold snowstorm!!!

I got called to that area of new york for power restoration 2 days before Christmas. Had dinner one night at a place in Troy I think called Moscattiello's. Veal saltimbocca was excellent, as was the pesto.

I may have to look that up. Never been.. but I don't really like to go into Troy lol I'm actually only a hop, skip and jump away from there (on other side of the Hudson)
