North Dakota Mini-Ocean

Here is one rendering that i just designed for someone in Grandforks.....anyone recognize the tank pic.

you got it....saxby's tank is my motovation for my 1500 gallon project....yeah 15k ...but thats just the cabinets...tank, stand, nothing else....

I honostly don't think you can touch that number. You would sell me that tank for that price? Or is that not including your labor to build tank and stand and install wood? I can maybe believe material might cost that...That is assuming you find some sweet discounts.

just to clarify.....saxbys is 1200gallon.... i was saying the one in my drawing is 900gallons... i just croped his tank picture in its place for the visual.

The reason I can do it for so cheap is.....for one ...i do it because I enjoy it, not to make a living like another company. second i do all the labor myself, including building the cabinets. Last, the tank is not four pieces of glass, it is one large pane for the front, two for each side, and the back is four pieces. All held together with a speacial frame. Which saves almost five thousand in glass prices.

Wow, sounds scary. Is this a common method/frame, or something you have designed?

I lost my Foxface sometime this week :( Not really sure why...Nothing was picking at him and when I left for the week he was eating and out in the open. Weird.

Still waiting for the controller to arrive so I can stop dosing. Also, the tank room addition is finishing up the tape, texture, and paint and I am hopeful I will be able to transfer the frag tanks next week.

Everything else is peachy.

The addition sounds like it will be nice and allow you to be able to do things better in the room. Any pics ofthe process??

That looks like an additional 6'x10'? That will be a great addtional area t be able to spread out everything.

Are you going to spread the Mosaic across the entire front of the new area, or leave it where it it at?

The frag tanks will go along the wall where the buckets are now (2nd picture). The bench will go on the "L" shaped wall with all the drywall mud on it (3rd picture). I will probably put some shelving on the two walls that are seperated by the doorway (4th picture).
